If I break like my piece of toast,
please tell me I was as good
as peanut butter and jelly…..
Today things are ugly and I can no longer succumb to it. I believe I have figured out this political whirlwind. It is ugly. It is hate. We need to work together. We need dialogue. We need political compassion.
Conservatives support Trump and pick on everything Liberals do. It’s a hateful world. Why can’t we all just get along? Why can’t we agree to disagree?
I was getting to a point of obsession. I was reading every point my Liberal supporters wrote. I began to notice the negativity. I did see the one sided reporting. Then, I would read the Conservative side and there is less news as they don’t report all things Trump says (because yes, it is an embarrassment). It’s a strange “political whirlwind” that all humanity is buying into.
I’m done. What is done is done. Mr. Donald Trump is our 45th President. He is NOT the best, but he won by default and there is nothing we can do about it. Yes, we can protest. Yes, we can resist. Yes, we can attempt to impeach him. But will any of these things change our world? No. If we impeach Trump, his administration will still be in office. So, what can we do during these hateful times? During 2017-2020?
I believe in getting our voices heard (via protests, e-mails and letters sent to our Congress), but the most important thing to do during this hateful time is to love one another. It’s hard when there is hardly a gray side. It’s either black or white. Liberal or Conservative.
We need to use all of our political energy to get ready for 2020. Let’s get our ducks in order. If you are a Conservative and believe Trump is “making America great again”, bless your soul. You will only learn as time goes on. But, you need to stop hating Liberals. Accept what is and do your part as an American. America is about freedom, so let the Liberals do what they will do. Try to put your feet in their shoes. Stop all the hate. That’s it.
If you’re a Liberal, stop attacking Conservatives. Just like us, they have the freedom to speak their voices as do we. We have to be the role models for our future. We have to show compassion and kindness.
I can only do my part and it’s very tough. As a Liberal, I have gotten asked if I’m even legal! This is where we are today! It’s sad! (for the record, I’m 8th or 9th generation. My family was part of the Mexican land before we lost to America. A treaty was signed that allowed those Mexicans to continue to live on their homes and become U.S. Citizens once the two countries were divided. My family was part of that treaty, so, yes, I’m legal). As a Liberal, I’m called a “whiner, dumb and stupid” Is this really American? No. Is this good for our Country? No. Then STOP!
I have read on social media sites that spew hate. Lets accept what is. Lets do what can to make America great again and go from there. We already know whose in charge. We know what we need to do. Other than that, lets kill everyone else with love, kindess, hugs and smiles.
I have not written in a while. I’ve had so many thoughts, but overwhelmed with our current political situation. My mind has been beyond disturbed. This is the year 2017, but I feel like we have been transported to the year 1960. What if we have been? What if we went through some cosmic black hole and we have to re-live our history? Something happened because my mind tells me this is not natural. Its is not real, but it is, it really is!
My romantic, spiritual and creative juices have been halted. In honor of my poetic mind, I am giving you a glimpse of where my mind has been. I wish I could share how in love I am with my two beautiful daughters or how my man swoons me with his brown eyes, but I unfortunately can’t. I have an unhealthy obsession.
If I share my trapped Trump mind, hopefully he will be released into a ball of negative thoughts and flown far away from my vibes. The hope is that once he is released like a wild animal, my creative thoughts can sneak back in.
Now back to my current obsession. This is not an obsession I have chosen like my 14 year old, who cannot stop watching You Tube videos when asked 100 times to get off. Or that delicious chocolate cake that is calling your name. No, this is a political obsession. A sad, unhappy, disturbed obsession.
It is called a Trump obsession.
I am in shock and I cannot accept the fact that almost half of the U.S. backs him up. I don’t get it. His followers will say anything to make it seem okay that he grabbed the U.S. and has shook it like a snow globe, each piece falling to the ground opposing his orders. Trump is acting as if nothing (our consititution) and no one (judges) can get between him and his own, personal political agenda.
This meme tells it all. It has not even been a month and he has written executive orders as if his Presidency was coming to an end (wishful thinking). He has opened the eyes to the American people (one positive) and “The People”, yes I say it loud and proud, “THE PEOPLE”, have gathered in thousands to protest his impulsive orders.
Before I share the top 3 protests where ” The People” have come together in masses, let me share my all time favorite quote. This was stated 700 years ago. This is proof that humanity has a challenging time accepting our wrongs in order to make changes for a better future. It seems like commen sense, but humans are complex. We are not only an animal species sharing a space on earth, but we have been blessed with a part of our brains that has awakened and can feel emotions. With emotions, comes greed, jealousy and fear with a mix of dominance from our animal side. Anyhow, I digress.
A man named Dante once said, “The hottest places in hell, are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crises, maintain their neutrality”. I share this great quote today because we are living in a “great moral crises”. This is not a time to be neutral. We have to stand up, speak up and resist our backward thinking of Trump and his ADMINISTRATION and WE HAVE AND WE WILL RESIST, unless of course you are a Trumper. In that case, embrace him, but be aware that you will be supporting divisions, hate and irrational orders (Trumpers skip down to “Quote 1”).
Once upon a time, in the year 2017, masses of American Citizens gathered together to revolt against a President who won the Electoral Vote, not the Popular Vote, but an Electoral Vote that changed the world.
After his official innaguration on January 20, 2017, women, men and their children around the WORLD gathered for one of the largest protests in history. “The Women’s March”, (which yes, I was part of in Los Angeles, California) was officially held in Washington D.C. The turnout was larger than Trumps own innaguration, which he refuses to accept (please note that he has a challenging time accepting anything that is not in his favor). To clarify, this protest was NOT only on Women’s Rights as many Trump Trolls want to argue, it was to awaken Trump and his Administration that The People have heard him and we will NOT stand by and allow him to bully us with his hateful ways (i.e.female reproductive rights, immigration rights, equality among religions). Sister cities across the United States AND THE WORLD (France, U.K, Australia) came together and made waves. It was displayed on all News Channels, on Social Media and in conversations throughout the week.
This is history. Our sons and daughters will be affected by Trumps orders. He is a man and he wants to make a decision regarding Women’s Productive Rights. Our children’s education will be affected by his choice of Secretary of Education, who is naive and does not know a lick of public education (Betsy Devos). This is why there was a protest. It was a revolt, it was throwing up on his backward thinking. (Pictures taken by myself in Downtown, Los Angeles, January 2017).
Then there was an Executive Order that came from an insensitive, lack of clear thinking (oh, did I say that out loud) President that banned 7 countries in the Middle East that are seen as “Muslim Countries”from entering the U.S. via airports. This order was based on wanting to “keep America safe from terrorist”. Mind you, this included people who had visas. This included infants and humans who have already established that they were not terrorists! The people once again gathered together and protested at airports across the U.S. The People took this order to court and stopped his Executive Order and our loving world moved on. Oh wait, the world wanted to move on, but as mentioned above, Trump lacks the ability to accept the consensus of The People and the Constitution, so life didn’t smoothly move on. He rejected the Judges order that was based on the Constitution as seen in his Tweet “The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned.” There you have it my fellow humans. Not much can be said after that Tweet and once again, this is the year 2017!

You would think it would end there. Nope. Then there is “The Wall”. This is Trumps idea of stopping illegal immigration coming from the Mexico/U.S. border. I’m sure you’ve read or heard about this “Wall”.
First, Trump demanded that Mexico pay for this wall in which they rightfully refused. Then he said he will tax the American people and Mexico will pay the U.S. back and Mexico once again rightfully refused. This was a joke right? Sadly, this is real! Who does that? I mean, if the world ran like that, everyone would be jacked, literally. He is a thug, attempting to pull a fast one on Mexico.
Sorry Trump, but as much as you look down on Mexicans, as you can see, they are much smarter than you thought! I mean, what did you think? Did you really think they would bow down and say, “Oh OKAY, Trump. Yeah, you’re right, all of the people that attempt to sneak into your country due to poverty or drug smuggling should be stopped and we will definitely work with you by paying for a wall that we know will NOT stop them”. This is real people. I wish I could make all of this up, but this is real!
Mind you, this is Trumps “idea, not Mexico or the majority of the American people. Finally or finalmente en espanol, he had to scramble on how he will pay for this “wall”, so he stated he will not tax the American people, but instead he will tax all goods coming through the border (which still affects the American people). With that being said, people are not happy with this idea and have protested throughout his campaign and post innaguration.
I will say it again and again, this is real! This is really happening.

As I enjoy reading reactions for or against Trump, I found this great response to Trump and his Executive Orders. I did not write this, but I would like to share this women’s rebuttal as she wrote exactly what I am thinking:
Quote 1-“To everyone of you that voted for Trump, and continue to stand with him; If and when we go to War, send your Children and Grandchildren to fight it. OWN IT. When our Earth is damaged beyond repair, OWN IT. When our Seniors and Children die from no food and healthcare, OWN IT. Tell the parents of the refugee child that dies waiting for help, you were doing Christ’s work. OWN IT. Tell the Soldier’s family that died fighting for an unknown cause, to pray for comfort. OWN IT. Tell the Cancer patient with no healthcare coverage, they need Jesus. OWN IT. When your Daughters and Granddaughters are told they do not deserve Human rights. OWN IT. When the 3 year old neighbor is killed by a Mentally ill Vagrant brandishing a gun he should not be legally able to own, please explain Jesus to them. OWN IT. Tell everyone in his path of destruction you voted for him and OWN IT! Now, my trapped Trump mind has been released. Please share. Please react. Please dispute. I enjoy a great debate over a glass of wine or warm coffee.

“Americanality”, an urban word I describe of “what is”. I no longer live in America. America is what I was born into, a world that was full of hope. My America is now morphing into a world of physical and mental toxicity.
Americanality-Noun: A country built on bleeding blood. A country built on immigration. A country that fought for “the people”. A country that slowly woke up and fought for equal rights among race, class and gender.
Americanality-Verb: A country of people who can be grouped into different thought processes. Most people are either humanists or inhumane. Humanists have an interest to pursue and educate ourselves and others with knowledge in order to not make the same mistakes from our past. We want to grow to a higher level of thinking in order to help ourselves and the world. It is having concern for the well being of others and the world we live in.
The latter is the opposite. It is greed by putting fortunes and wealth before the well being of humans. It is digging up death no matter the cost (i.e. oil). It is racism. It is watching a group of racists march, join and shout “white power”, but what does that even mean? “White” is a color, NOT a race or culture.
Americanality is today. It is the year 2016 up to 2020. Many humans have fought and died for equal rights. Susan B. Anthony fought for the rights for women to vote. And look at who women voted for in our Trump vs. Hillary election!? This is why, in my eyes, America is no longer America today, it is now “Americanality”.
How could a sane, conscious women vote for a womanizing man? A man who does not have respect for the female gender. It is an insult to the women who fought for our voting rights! A disgusting insult!
We all know the story of the famous Mr. King who fought for equal rights, peace and justice among people of color. Or better yet, for all humans who were socially and economically disadvantaged. During his time period, he stood up and resisted all hate and racism that affected humanity. He empowered each soul who suffered. Today, no matter what race, class, gender or color you are, you can go to school, get a college education, you can sit on a bus and you can go everywhere and anywhere! Sadly, things may change.
On a positive note, there are many of us “Americans” who are consciously aware of what is going on. We can resist the toxic ways our society is going toward. As long as you read and always check your facts, you will be okay.
Educate yourself and your kin because four years can be as long or as short as reality allows.
My “Americanality” can and will go back to America, but we the people have a lot of work to clean up.
”Viva La Revolucion in Ustados Unidos 2016″
Today in the year 2016, I never thought I would be living through this chaos. Can you believe it? I absolutely cannot! It is unreal. We have “Black lives matter” only because our police racially profile. Today Native Americans are being brutalized all because they are trying to continue to protect their sacred land as well as everyone’s drinking water (unreal). You can talk to almost all Americans protesting the president-elect Mr. Donald Trump. We read about the KKK (what the hell is going on?!) protesting white power. It is beyond unbelievable. I feel like I’m in a nightmare awaiting to be awoken. It is beyond fearful for what tomorrow may become.
As a child of the 80s, I grew up in a lower to middle class world. I did not know what “the struggle” was as I always had a roof, food, clothing and an education. The biggest thing I had was a working mother who taught me what her and her family went through in the 1950 and 60s. My dad grew up in East L.A. and he spoke of the walk-outs and how proud we should be to be Mexican American. But around me, I never saw hate. Was I sheltered? Or was I just being a kid unaware of reality?
As a latchkey child, I knew how to be independent, which helped me get through college. It is when I was in college when I awakened. I finally learned what the real world was made of. I read about women equality issues, racial segregation to political corruption. My eyes and ears opened. My life would never be the same. It was like walking through a door to another universe.
I swam through the high and low tides of our ocean while doing what I can as an activist for human rights. I happily sat at N.O.W. (National Organization of Women) meetings while brainstorming how to educate our world on women’s rights. I spent weekends in Needles, Ca. on an Indian Reservation protesting the government on them taking their land (again).
Then, I had kids and did not have the time to do the footwork of an activist, but what I have done, is teach my daughter’s what the real world is. They know of the political corruption and how to treat everyone equally regardless of their race, class or gender. Today, I am not afraid to speak on behalf of my own personal rights in regards to my race, gender or employment.
My biggest revolution today is to make sure all kids with special needs have equal access to a free and appropriate education. Everyone has a different agenda, but regardless of your agenda, of all days, of all years, this is NOT the time to sit and be quiet.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Dante, “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality”. Today we are living what will be written in future history books.
Fight the corruption or it WILL fight you down to the ground!
I am not white,
but lightly caramel,
I am not brown,
but lightly washed out,
I was born into a world of confusion,
If you are not white,
you are not right,
If you are not brown,
you are drowned out,
I scream out to my cultura,
Elotes y chile’,
I want mi lengua tan linda!
Lost in translation,
We are the forgotten,
“They’ve” ruined our cultura,
Ideals y lengua.
They want us out,
Yet we are the glue
of the lost!
Fight are “WE”,
Warriors of Mexicas,
Indias y Mestizos.
We are the Brown,
The light eyes of “them”,
Take us back to our
Keep us strong,
Strong are WE.
Strong is he,
Strong is she,
STRONG ARE WE!
Dedicated to my Grandma (Helen Atencio (Moralez) who is closer to Native blood than I. A native of Colorado. She was a true warrior. A fighter. But also a true example of a women who lost her culture. She was born to parents who spoke Spanish, but in the early 1900s, she was not allowed to speak it as she would have been scorned. Her family was already living in Colorado when it was Mexico. During the Mexican American War, her father was very light skinned and they were able to stay in their homeland after Mexico lost to the Americans. I remember her telling me this story when I asked her why “we didn’t speak Spanish”. Her father couldn’t speak Spanish, so he wouldn’t be kicked out, hence my Grandmother never knew the language. My mother obviously was not taught the language and then comes me, not being taught the language or culture.
It’s truly a sad story that is still happening today.
It is a sickness,
It eats up their souls,
They need a cleanse,
They are a rotting corpse.
It’s a sickness,
Where is humanity?
Why not White?
We are people,
We are a life,
We are a breath,
We are human,
You are sickness.
They were human!
They were a son
They were human!
You are human with
a poisoned mind!
You need help!
Our country needs help!
They need help!
We need solidarity.
It is time.
It is time for a cleanse.
It is time.
The time is NOW!
